Susie Post Holiday Interview
Fiji- August 2016
1 – WHERE DID YOU GO?
Fiji, Radisson Blu Denarau & The Intercontinental Golf Resort & Spa in Natadola
2- WHO WITH AND HOW LONG FOR?
Husband Brad and son Sam ( 6 months )
4 nights at the Radisson and 5 nights at the Intercontinental
3- WHO DID YOU FLY WITH AND HOW WERE THEY?
Flew with Qantas to Sydney and Fiji Airways from Sydney to Nadi and Fiji Airways from Nadi to Melbourne. Staff friendly and all on time. We flew business class. The Qantas domestic flight from Melbourne to Sydney was brilliant new seats. Fiji airways had a newer seat from Sydney but the older style on the Melbourne route. Food & Drink is a lacking a little finesse but did the job. We were disappointed with the management of the bassinets though. The way over were were told we have them only to get on the plane and see that this aircraft only has them in the middle row in business class. On the way home we were told they couldn’t find any!! ( only to see two being used in the first rows of economy)
4- WHAT WAS THE HIGHLIGHT?
The people are the highlight of Fiji! They really are very lovely. The beach at Natadola really is quite beautiful too.
5 – WHAT WAS THE LOWLIGHT?
The kerfuffle with the bassinet seating- I can handle it because I know what to expect but would be annoyed if my clients had to deal with the same situation. Just lacks a bit of good management.
6 – BEST THING YOU ATE?
Ky’s Pecan Scrolls at the Intercontinental!
7 – WHERE WOULD YOU GO BACK TO?
I would go back to Fiji when the kiddies are old enough for kids club as they seemed to be having a brilliant time! I liked being in Denarau as you are not captive to one resort and the marina is developing a bit here too giving other dining and shopping outlets. There is also a water park and golf course here.
8 – TRAVELLING TIP POST HOLIDAY?
Get your agent to check and re-check your bassinet seating! Whilst its never a guarantee anyway it will defiantly be something I will be checking for my clients in the future. Having a ground floor room is also very handy with a pram!
9 – ANYTHING ELSE?
It really is a great family destination, sunny days, nice people and good resorts. Most people are Australians. I wouldn’t recommend the Radisson if you didn’t have kiddies! They do have an adults only area but there are kids everywhere. The Intercontinental is a bigger resort and the adults pool is much more separate from the family pool. Food & Beverage was more expensive at the Intercon. We found the Radisson to be quite reasonable.
